| About Your Pet Care Professional I have been a pet owner all of my life. I have had fish, hamsters, parakeets, dogs and a cat. I have also been known to take in hurt animals such as pigeons. Although I have no experience training dogs professionally, I have been able to teach several of my dogs to jump in the tub for their bath, right from their left paw when asking them to shake, sit to have their paws wiped after coming inside, recognize the spelling of certain words like “out” and “car”, do certain activities as seen in agility contests and sit on a hand signal. Currently, I own a large breed dog that I adopted while working with a rescue organization. Several years ago, I started taking care of pets for family members, friends and neighbors. It was then that I realized how much I loved caring for animals and decided to start my own business. It is important to me to know as much as possible about pets in order to provide excellent care. I have volunteered with the North County Humane Society, member of several pet associations, an avid reader of many pet message boards, pet or pet sitting magazines, industry related articles such as how to break up a dog fight, attend seminars such as dog fear & aggression and classes such as pet first aid. |
